The Adaptive Equipment Specialist, under outpatient services, will work in the transitional wellness center. Instructs participants in group re-established exercise classes and 1:1. Under supervision, develops exercise programs for all participants to meet their individualized goals. Ensures equipment is maintained with monthly check-ins. Will work with therapy staff as needed to maximize participant success and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Non-Competitive: two years of experience designing and manufacturing adaptive equipment; or two years of skilled experience in carpentry or a related trade, one year of which must have been designing and manufacturing adaptive equipment for individuals.
Preferred Qualifications: Personal Trainer Certification or able to train for. Experience in teaching personal and recreational fitness classes to individuals at all levels and abilities. An understanding of instructions for 1:1 and group programs for those with special needs. Ability to train and learn to instruct clients on specialty exercise tasks and equipment use. This position is best suited for someone willing to learn a personal training program and work 1:1 with patients of all abilities and levels.
