The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of
Facilities Manager in the Administrative Services Bureau (ASB). ASB is responsible for managing and coordinating an
array of administrative services at OAG. Central to the bureau’s portfolio is the management of 31 offices located
around New York state. The primary responsibilities of the Facilities Manager will involve providing project
management and operations support, including daily and long-term oversight, for OAG’s nearly 800,000 square feet
of real estate. Additionally, the Facilities Manager will assist with the acquisition of new office space, coordinate
renovations and relocations, address daily maintenance concerns and facility emergencies, and ensure OAG
workplace safety by managing the office’s dedicated Statewide Security Management Program and health and
safety initiatives. This position is based in Albany and reports to ASB’s Deputy Director.
Duties:
- Liaising regularly with other agencies, internal agency managers, high level executives, OAG staff from
- Managing facilities related requests including the acquisition/allocation of space, the development of office
- Preparing lease documents in accordance with OGS’ Space Guidelines and OAG’s space standards.
- Participating in the selection of all leased sites and monitoring landlord compliance with lease provisions.
- Creating and managing facilities related project plans, delegating effectively, ensuring there are open and
productive communications between all parties/stakeholders, implementing quality controls and delivering
facilities projects with minimal business interruption, inconvenience, and lost time and resources.
- Analyzing and developing project budgets, RFIs, purchases, and contracts.
- Responding to emergencies and lease compliance issues.
- Assisting with the administration of security access systems including employee ID cards, access controls,
alarm monitoring, cameras, and intercoms, and managing new installations, maintenance, repairs, invoices,
and reports.
- Assisting with the management of staff covering several program areas including the facilities management
signage, and sustainability which includes ensuring the proper destruction of e-waste and OAG’s recycling
and confidential disposal practices.
