Duties Description
- Janitorial services including: Clean bathrooms, kitchen, and pantry.
- Sweep and mop floors throughout the building.
- Restock rags, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, garbage bags, and other items as necessary.
- Set up and break down tables and chairs for educational programs and events.
- Pick up trash around the building (both in garbage cans and on the ground).
- Maintain pollinator garden and playground area by weeding, planting, clearing dead plants.
- Assist with events and be available to work various hours, including weekends
- Complete required maintenance reports thoroughly and on time as needed.
- Fill out, send, file, and follow up on work requests, stock room acquisitions, and purchasing supplies as needed.
- Call in storm reports to Jones Beach Operations.
- Identify building maintenance needs and supplies and alert supervisor.
- Keep maintenance tools clean and organized.
- Pick up or drop off items at Storehouse, Admin building, or Headquarters as needed.
- Perform other park-related duties as assigned

- Must possess and maintain and a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and load, carry, or unload materials of varying weights and sizes.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be reliable, flexible, and willing to work in a team setting.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff and park patrons in a responsible and courteous manner under stressful conditions.
- Ability to work in a high-pressured, fast-paced setting.
