The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a full-time Center Administrator position for the Behavioral Health Services and Policy Research at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. The Center for Practice Innovations (CPI) was established to support the New York State Office of Mental Health's (OMH) mission to promote the widespread availability of evidence-based practices (EBPs) to improve mental health services, ensure accountability, and promote recovery-oriented outcomes for consumers and families. Under its multiple initiatives, CPI offers training and support to providers throughout New York State.
We are seeking an organized, conscientious, detail-oriented Administrator to help with the day-to-day operation of this large, multi-million-dollar Center. Day-to-day tasks include financial management, working with OMH, interacting with leaders and administrators in the 12 initiatives in the Center, acting as a liaison between the initiatives and the data unit and online assistance unit, and overseeing technical projects and implementation across initiatives. Applicants must have a high degree of organization and ability to lead multiple, contending priorities; possess judgment, maturity, negotiation / influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills; be a self-starter and comfortable operating at a fast pace with minimal direction; and must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Under the supervision of the Division Administrator, this person will :
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
- Manage budgets for all CPI initiatives
- Monitor salary allocation of all CPI staff
- Interact with OMH fiscal staff as needed
- Draft and monitor vendor contracts
- Analyze current vendors and assist with locating new vendors
- Meet regularly with leads and / or administrators for all initiatives to be aware of programmatic and resource needs
- Develop an understanding of the functionality of our Learning Management System (LMS) to facilitate interactions between initiatives and the online training unit. This includes anticipating the needs of the initiatives and communicating the requirements of the online assistance unit.
- Develop an understanding of the data unit's skills and resources to facilitate interactions between initiatives and the data unit : this includes anticipating the initiatives' needs and communicating the data unit's requirements.
- Develop an understanding of the continuing education (CE), Module development, and administrative support units' skills and resources to facilitate interactions between initiatives and the units.
- Organize the inter-initiative activities, ensuring completion of the project / product on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Provide leadership and expertise in implementing new products / services / processes
- Recommend and justify significant changes to existing products / services / processes
- Recommend process improvements and serve as a partner concern point for all issues and questions associated with a project / program
- Manage technical and non-technical resource requirements needed to support a particular project / program are in place
- Provide ongoing written and verbal status updates to senior leadership
- Other duties as they emerge as this is a new position
