Position Description:
The Waterville Central School District Board of Education invites highly qualified educational leaders to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools, with the successful candidate expected to assume office on or about July 2025. This is a fully confidential search, managed from the receipt of applications through to the final appointment. The Board is working in collaboration with Patricia N. Kilburn, Ed.D., District Superintendent of the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES, to screen applicants and recommend candidates, while the Board retains final decision-making authority regarding the selection process.

The district, serving approximately 764 students over 74 square miles and supported by roughly 154 faculty and staff members, operates on an annual budget of approximately $22 million. With a legacy spanning more than 150 years, Waterville Central School District is committed to academic excellence, innovation, and the holistic development of every learner. The district comprises Memorial Park Elementary School, Waterville Jr./Sr. High School, and a bus garage. At the elementary level, students build a strong literacy foundation beginning in pre-K through small class sizes, personalized instruction, and evidence-based programs such as the Science of Reading and the Positivity Project. At the secondary level, robust academic opportunities are provided through eight Advanced Placement courses, an NYSED-approved Agriculture Career and Technical Education program, and a broad array of extracurricular and athletic programs that prepare graduates for college, careers, or military service.
