Position Description:
The Mount Markham Central School District Board of Education is seeking an exceptional educational leader to assume the responsibilities of superintendent.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated skills as an exceptional educational leader; successful experience as a superintendent is preferred, but not required.
A record of leading successful schools characterized by high academic achievement, community engagement, highly motivated staff, and diverse student programs.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex educational and fiscal issues to a variety of audiences.
Demonstrated experience working with all facets of school business, including budget development, contract negotiation, capital project management, transportation, facilities, and human resources.
A willingness to work with a dedicated school board through ethical and professional conduct, transparent communication, and feedback.
Demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges faced by a high-need rural community.
Involvement in the community, regularly engaging in school and community activities.
