The 7th Judicial District Chief Clerk's Office is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Secretary. This position will report directly to the Chief Clerk and Deputy Chief Clerk and will provide essential secretarial, administrative, and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the Clerk’s Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform secretarial, administrative, and clerical tasks to support the Chief Clerk and Deputy Chief Clerk.
- Keyboarding, preparing, revising, editing, proofreading, and finalizing correspondence and legal documents.
- Organize and file documents, including maintaining both physical and digital files.
- Data entry and maintenance of the case management system.
- Open and maintain files, ensuring proper organization and tracking of documents.
- Maintain calendars and tasks to ensure deadlines and appointments are met.
- Answer and route telephone calls professionally and efficiently.
- Provide assistance in managing cases and ensuring case files are up to date.
- Perform various other legal and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or the equivalent and two (2) years of general or legal secretarial experience; or
Satisfactory completion of a certified business or commercial course beyond the high school level including course work in legal stenography and one (1) year of general or legal secretarial experience;
or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
