What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enterprise System Engineer position at New York Technology Partners?
Overview:
We’re looking for someone who understands enterprise systems from the infrastructure side and is ready to take a broader architectural view. Whether you’re currently in a formal Enterprise Architect role, or you're a Senior Systems Engineer who’s been designing complex systems and influencing big-picture decisions—we’d love to talk with you.
This role isn’t about deep specialization in one platform. It’s about understanding how systems work together across an organization and helping shape smart, scalable, and resilient environments. If you’re someone who sees across domains—networking, security, storage, applications—and thrives in a fast-paced, less structured environment, this could be a great next step.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and architect enterprise-level systems, with a focus on infrastructure, performance, and usability
- Work cross-functionally with technical teams, business leaders, and stakeholders up to the VP level
- Evaluate how systems and software decisions impact infrastructure and service delivery as a whole
- Develop strategic roadmaps for enterprise systems in manufacturing, distribution, and packaging
- Collaborate with global teams across the US and UK to align architecture with business needs
- Shadow and support the Sr. Systems Architect while ramping up on current projects
- Contribute to systems assessments, documentation, and long-term design principles
- Work within a dynamic, evolving environment—this isn’t a tightly structured PMO space
What You Bring:
- 7 years of experience in enterprise systems or senior infrastructure roles
- Strong background in infrastructure—servers, storage, networking—not just software
- Experience with large, complex, multi-tier systems
- Solid grasp of enterprise design principles (auth, networking, business processes, security, etc.)
- Familiarity with frameworks like ITIL, ITSM, or TOGAF
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles (certification is a plus but not required)
- Comfortable working with both hands-on technical staff and executive stakeholders
- Able to adapt to fast-paced, less structured environments
- Bonus points for experience in global manufacturing or regulated environments
A Note on Tech Stack:
There’s no laundry list of required technologies here. This role is about big-picture thinking, cross-system awareness, and the ability to design scalable solutions—not checking off specific tools. If you’ve come up through the infrastructure world and find yourself thinking strategically, you’ll likely be a strong fit.
