Newark Manor is seeking a nurse to help care for our residents. We are a smaller home providing a home like environment for our residents who need medical care, with an appreciation for home and work life balance.
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed
- Assist with patient assessments and physical examinations. Communicate with DON
- Perform basic life support measures in emergency situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and treatment provided
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate
- Assist with case management for patients with chronic conditions or complex healthcare needs
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding healthcare management

- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as Athenahealth, for medical documentation
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures related to patient care and safety
- Ability to suture wounds and provide wound care as needed
- Experience in case management for patients with chronic conditions or complex healthcare needs
- Familiarity with occupational health practices, including physical examinations and health screenings
- Basic life support certification
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities in a compassionate and supportive manner
