JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervision of District computer and network technicians, provides training to assure compliance with district policy, safety standards, laws, rules, and regulations of agencies having jurisdiction and consistent with current best practices of the industry. Closely coordinates with District staff to assure that technology services support the educational needs of the schools. Provides technological support to the administrative function District-wide; plans, organizes, coordinates, reviews, and evaluates the work of computer and network technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Excellent communication skills; proven experience operating and maintaining both networks and file serving systems in a multiple site environment; experience with internet web and e-mail servers; ability to coordinate the planning, installation, and servicing of network components; ability to supervise support staff and coordinate activities at multiple work sites; ability to work cooperatively with District staff to provide technical support in the use of technology; ability to develop and administer a training program for computer and network technicians that assures compliance with the latest industry practices; familiarity with computer equipment, software products in use in the District and related equipment; ability to compile supply lists for competitive bidding; ability to interact with vendors in a positive manner while protecting the interests of the District; ability to coordinate equipment repair; ability to maintain accurate records; develop work schedules, and resolve performance concerns, excellent driving record and valid drivers license required.
Experience:
Three years supervisory, network and technology experience preferred.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate or four year degree in a related field preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise daily activities of computer and network technicians.
- Provide planning and implementation expertise to the district regarding computer operations to assure the orderly progression of District activities.
- make recommendations to the district regarding computer operations, programming, features, and requirements.
- Coordinate and administer district file servers in terms of use, capacity, secruity and standard operation procedures.
- Troubleshoot and disagnose network problems district-wide.
- Provide leadership to district staff regarding support uses of district technology.
- Manage the repair and maintenance work flow and maintain effective communications with district sites in regard to current conditions in the network environment.
- Develop and administer training programs to maintain the proficiency of District computer and netwrk technicians.
- Keep up to date on issues (what's new, compativility, conflicts) relating to networks, sofware, hardware, and new products in use or applicable to District activities.
- Maintain a working, cooperative relationship with district staff, building adminsistrators, students, other agenceies and venodors.
- Serve as a member of the District's Data Team and other district committees.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Language Skills: Ability to read English and comprehend complex technical language and follow documented technical processes. Ability to write memos and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to carry out detailed, written, or oral instructions in English. Ability to research and deduce solutions to technical problems involving new or unfamiliar technologies.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisor(s), staff, students, parents, and community. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Able to use a telephone, operate a computer, and use other office equipment. Ability to drive to other program sites and meetings.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month period with vacation time as established. Performance will be evaluated in accordance with board policy on evaluation of CSPT personnel.
CLASSIFICATION/LOCATION: CSPT, Full Time at District Office
CALENDAR: 8 hours per day, 260 day contract.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
Salary Range $95,610 - $125,900
