Detailed Description
The Security Lead at Newfield’s is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the campus through various duties. These include organizing radios for effective communication, managing daily staffing rosters, and responding to emails to stay connected with staff and address upcoming events. The role involves documenting incidents in the Control Room, responding to injuries with first aid, and performing lockdowns and unlocks as needed. The Security Lead supports Security Rovers and Safety Associates, helps maintain campus peace, conducts staff training, and ensures safety compliance. They also assist with onboarding new hires and work collaboratively with the security team to maintain a secure environment. Strong communication, emergency response skills, and adherence to security protocols are essential.
Responsibilities
- Gather, organize, and distribute radios to Safety Associates for effective communication.
- Review, revise, and distribute daily rosters to Safety Associates, ensuring all shifts are covered.
- Respond to emails within 24 to 48 hours
- Maintain professional communications with staff and raise awareness of upcoming events.
- Record information via Control Room Routine Daily Activity for accurate documentation.
- Communicate with Control Room Operators and other security staff using numerical codes for concise and professional communication.
- Utilize the appropriate key set for performing lockdowns, unlocks, and assisting other departments as requested.
- Stand in for or assist Security Rovers and Safety Associates during their post assignments as needed.
- Maintain peace and security within Newfield’s property through de-escalation techniques and policy enforcement.
- Ensure Safety Associates adhere to Security Department policies concerning uniforms, equipment, professional behavior, and timeliness.
- Collaborate with the Security Management team to understand, advise, and implement policy changes or schedule adaptations.
- Participate and complete required courses provided through Newfields University.
- Represent the Security Management team in scheduled meetings or situational circumstances as required.
- Utilize security measures such as metal detectors, wands, key sets, golf carts, and routine patrols around the campus.
- Perform routine checks on Safety Associates and Security Rovers at access points throughout the campus.
- Organize, adapt, and present the Security Roll Call PowerPoint to convey important information to Security Staff.
- Respond promptly to injury incidents on Newfield’s campus, providing short-term medical assistance as per first aid training.
- Assist Security Management with the badging and fingerprinting process for new hires.
- Maintain awareness of patrons across the campus to ensure compliance with safety policies and restricted areas.
- Assist Control Room Operators by standing in on post or completing specific high clearance tasks when necessary.
- Operate the dock office and assist Dock Management as needed.
- Escort contractors and noted guests to their designated locations.
- Perform security screenings at entry points to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Document and record any insects or other creatures found within the galleries for safety purposes.
- Always maintain a professional demeanor and presentation while performing job duties.
- Participate and complete required courses provided through Newfields University
- During periods of severe weather, building maintenance, or holidays, essential security personnel must be present at work
- Collaborate with the Security Leads team to cover all responsibilities and promote a supportive work environment.
- Conduct routine training sessions for Security staff on stair locations, emergency procedures, and Festival protocols
- Ensure a clean work environment by managing your desk, kitchenette area, and frequently used spaces.
- Attend and adapt to training provided by the Security Management team or HR department as part of employment at Newfield’s.

- Valid Indiana Driver’s License. All Newfields employees must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license to drive any of the Newfields vehicles.
- Proficiency in using military time to fulfill job responsibilities is also required.
- Adaptable in revising tactics and approaches in response to evolving situations, new intelligence, or new hazards.
Education and/or Experience
- Applicants must have a high school diploma/GED equivalent
- Ability to complete the required Security training for the position
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word/Outlook/Excel)
