What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal - Personal Injury position at Newman Injury Law, PLLC?
you will be working in a fast-paced, growing work environment where you will be responsible for providing customer service to the clients and litigation to support to the attorney. There will be some presuit case management as well. This is a hybrid position. You will be responsible for managing investigation, opening claims, gathering medical records, discovery, preparing pleadings, setting hearings, coordinate depositions and negotiation of medical bills.
Applicant must have great organization and time management skills, must be organized, positive and goal oriented. Applicant mut not be afraid to ask questions and wants to improve every day.
Duties but not limited are:
- Managing discovery and exhibits for litigation matters.
- Preparing documents for depositions, hearings, mediations and trial to assist attorneys.
- Ensure clients are regularly seeking treatment
- Ensuring the damages/medical bills tab in our case management system is complete and up to date
- Assisting in the gathering of information for, and preparation of, discovery responses.
- Requesting medical records and bills.
- Includes persistent following up with requests to ensure quick receipt.
- Organization of all medical records by provider and each provider must be in chronological order.
- Ensuring the file is kept well organized, documents are named properly, and that information is kept up to date in our online system.
- Monthly courtesy calls with clients to provide updates and check in with clients to see how they are.
- Working with attorneys, paralegals, and other office staff in a professional manner.
Job Qualifications:
- Candidate must be able to speak English, Spanish or Creole fluently.
- Candidate must have (1) years minimum of experience in litigation.
- Candidate must have Professionalism and prioritization of client customer service and representation.
- Candidate must have intense research, verbal and written communication, and people skills.
- Candidate must have excellent attention to detail.
- Candidate must have the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Candidate must have the ability to work independently.
