Summary/Objective
The Global Head of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing the human resource strategy and function in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of Newmark. The workforce for which this position is responsible comprises over 7,000 Newmark employees and 1099 brokers, with over the 4,000 in the United States, 1,000 in the U.K., 500 in India, and growing internationally.
Essential Functions
- Provide Human Resources overall leadership and guidance to Newmark by overseeing all aspects of Newmark’s Human Resources function and team comprised of over 70 professionals primarily currently based in New York City and other areas of the U.S., India, and London. Such aspects include, but are not limited to, employee relations, compensation, benefits, payroll, human resources operations and information systems, data and analytics, talent acquisition, career development, retention, succession planning, training, and leadership development. Some of these areas of expertise (e.g., operations, payroll, benefits, compensation, and talent) are led or supported by centralized teams across Newmark and its affiliate, Cantor Fitzgerald.
- Establish and implement HR plans that effectively communicate and support Newmark’s mission, strategic vision, and business operations objectives.
- Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
- Provide guidance on employee relations and ensure compliance with all applicable employment-related laws and regulations.
- Oversee human resources data governance for Newmark.
- Streamline processes across organization to create process efficiencies and work closely with technology to improve administrative and employee experience and automation.
- Oversee and implement all HR aspects of mergers and acquisitions and expansions globally.
- Work closely with Cantor Fitzgerald’s Global Head of Human Resources and other Human Resources professionals for Cantor Fitzgerald to centralize global group functions were appropriate and design and implement firm-wide policies, practices, procedures, and programs regionally and globally as appropriate for implementation at Newmark.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective for Newmark.
- Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
- Partner with Newmark’s executive management to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of Newmark.

Travel
This position is expected to be based out of New York City but will require some travel (likely up to 25%). A limited amount of travel may be international.
Skills, Education, and Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; degree in human resources, law, business, psychology or similar discipline preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar HR role, with at least five years of HR experience at an executive level
- JD, MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field preferred
- Expert knowledge in dealing with and resolving complex employee relations issues and strong experience in building relationships with business line counterparts
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including but not limited to compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
- Expert communication skills (both verbal and written), strong work ethic, and ability to be dynamic and evolve in an ever-changing landscape
- Relevant real estate or brokerage industry a plus

Salary : $275,000 - $450,000
