About This Role
Newmont is seeking an Engineer Process Control to design, support, and audit advanced process control optimization solutions across our global processing operations. In this role, you’ll act as a technical expert supporting complex automation challenges, mentoring regional teams, and implementing solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity in metallurgical processes. The salary range offered for this role is USD $102,000 -133,875. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.

- Builds positive working relationships with a diverse range of people across disciplines.
- Support, coach and mentor site and regional control systems teams, both when on-site and remotely.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for highly complex process control challenges globally.
- Design and review automation strategies to improve performance of control systems in fixed plant assets.
- Lead and coordinate the technical configuration of controller performance tools (e.g., Plant ESP).
- Conduct audits on implemented automation solutions and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Develop and maintain a global library of best-practice process control strategies.
- Support annual technical skills assessments and maintain a global competency framework.
- Deliver internal knowledge-sharing presentations and participate in external industry forums.
- Collaborate with global Process Control Engineers and internal stakeholders across multiple sites.
- Monitor industry trends and promote Newmont’s presence and technical leadership in the mining sector.
- Expand, update and maintain a library of best-practise process control strategies and solutions
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and safe work practices.
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Process Control, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in Process Control Engineering or Plant Optimization.
- Strong background in automation and control across complex metallurgical processes.
- Experience mentoring technical teams and working across international operations.
- Expert knowledge in advanced regulatory control theory and process optimization.
- Proficient in Yokogawa Centum, Emerson Delta-V DCS, Rockwell PLCs, and MATLAB.
- Familiarity with systems like Yokogawa PACE and Rockwell Pavilion.
- Skilled in using Plant Historians, Excel, Microsoft Project, and Office suite.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for control system performance.
- Must have an valid Drivers license.
- High attention to detail and effective communication; bilingual English & Spanish an asset.
