Lead the Future of Capital Markets at a Global Mining Leader
Are you a strategic finance leader with deep expertise in capital markets, corporate finance, and balance sheet optimization. Do you thrive in high-impact roles, influencing global financial strategies and working closely with executive leadership and external stakeholders?

Newmont, the world's leading gold company, is seeking a Head of Global Capital Markets to drive our capital structure strategy, debt financing, liquidity management, and M due diligence. As part of our team, you will

  • Develop& Execute Capital Markets Strategy: Lead Newmont’s global capital markets activities, including debt portfolio management, liquidity planning, and financial risk mitigation.
  • Optimize Financial Structure: Provide strategic insights on capital allocation, hedging strategies, and investment decisions to enhance financial performance.
  • Lead M Financial Due Diligence: Play a key role in assessing mergers, acquisitions, and asset divestitures, ensuring sound financial decision-making.
  • Drive Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with credit rating agencies, banks, fixed-income investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Champion Sustainability Finance: Implement sustainability-linked financing instruments to support Newmont’s ESG and decarbonization goals.
  • Lead& Develop a High-Performing Team: Oversee a team of capital markets professionals, driving talent development and succession planning.
Prerequisites for your success in this role

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration or related fields, Master’s degree preferred.
  • A CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) is a strong plus.
Experience:
  • Extensive experience in capital markets, corporate finance, treasury, or investment banking, ideally in a global setting.
  • Experience in debt and equity financing, hedging, liquidity management, and financial risk management.
  • Background in mining, heavy industrials, or natural resources is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in leading teams, advising C-suite executives, and working with external financial institutions and regulatory bodies.
  • Involvement in M transactions, financial due diligence, and asset divestitures.
Knowledge:
  • Debt& capital markets strategies (e.g., fixed-income investments, bond issuance, credit risk management).
  • Treasury operations (liquidity management, FX/commodity hedging, cash flow optimization).
  • Financial regulations& reporting (GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and tax/accounting practices).
  • Sustainability-linked finance (green bonds, ESG-linked loans).
  • Mining sector financials (commodity pricing impact, capital allocation in cyclical industries).
Skills:
  • Strategic financial leadership – ability to align capital market activities with corporate growth and sustainability goals.
  • Analytical& financial modeling – strong ability to assess capital structures, risk exposure, and investment opportunities.
  • Stakeholder management – experience working with credit rating agencies, investors, banks, and senior executives.
  • Problem-solving& decision-making – ability to evaluate financial trade-offs and navigate complex transactions.
  • People leadership – proven ability to manage and develop high-performing finance teams.
  • Collaboration& influence – ability to work cross-functionally and negotiate with external partners.
  • Adaptability – ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced financial environment.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mine operations, financial planning, portfolio development, and risk management. Knowledge of M due diligence, scenario planning, and regulatory compliance is essential.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $209,650 - $299,500. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
