Purpose
- Manage the project economic evaluation process on behalf of Investment Managers and the Corporate Planning department by evaluating investment alternatives within Newmont’s capital projects portfolio and determining which alternatives have the best economic and strategic fit for the company. Provide leadership and governance for Newmont’s investment evaluation standards and tools.
- Partner with Investment Managers and Corporate Leadership by analyzing the impact that investment alternatives will have on business plans and strategic plans. Act as a subject matter expert for the planning and investment evaluation processes.
- Support the corporate planning function in determining enterprise funding requirements and by providing reporting and analysis of regional and consolidated business & strategic plans. This includes managing our portfolio tools, analyzing the business portfolio and supporting senior management decision making around business plan & strategic scenarios

Training & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or Mining related technical degree. MBA or Masters in Mineral Economics preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of combined relevant experience in mining and financial work. At least 3 years in the mining industry. Previous management experience preferred.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively evaluate and prioritize tasks.
- Self-motivated, dynamic, diplomatic and results oriented.
- Experience in project management, valuation, risk analysis, simulation and mining operations.
- Excellent communication/presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels within the organization
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, tax, capital budgeting and portfolio analysis, including development of portfolio management tools.
- Expert analytic, quantitative and synthesis skills; in-depth understanding and application of financial data and modeling and associated systems/tools.
- Ability to lead through influence, impact across diverse stakeholder groups.
Working Conditions
- Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.
- Position may be required to work in a mining environment on a temporary basis.
