BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned Principal, provide instructional assistance related to the use of information technology to students at an assigned secondary school; assure that hardware and software is current and operational. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Instructional Assistant-Technology classification series is differentiated by assigned levels of instruction. Instructional Assistant-Technology I incumbents are assigned to an elementary school site while Instructional Assistant-Technology II incumbents are assigned to a secondary school site requiring a more extensive knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school, supplemented by college-level course work in technology or computer repair and two years of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of computer systems, peripherals and related equipment.
