Newport School District is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Middle School Math/Science Teacher to provide instruction for our summer program, July 7-August 1, 2025. This role focuses on helping students in grades 6–8 recover competencies in mathematics and science through targeted instruction, personalized learning, and hands-on support.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in middle school math and/or science to students requiring competency recovery.
Assess student progress and adjust instruction to support individual learning needs.
Collaborate with the summer program team to track student participation and success.
Create a supportive, engaging, and structured learning environment.
Provide timely feedback to students and maintain communication with program coordinators and families as needed.
Maintain accurate attendance and progress data for reporting and documentation.
Qualifications:
Valid NH Teaching Certification in Middle School Math and/or Science (or equivalent in other states).
Experience working with middle school students in a differentiated or competency-based learning environment.
Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
Ability to motivate and support students in a short-term, accelerated learning model.
Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for assessment and instruction is a plus.
