Job Summary
The Food & Beverage Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the food and beverage department within the Newport News Williamsburg Airport. Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the food and beverage department to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
- Manage and train staff to deliver high-quality service while fostering a positive work environment.
- Maintain inventory levels and manage ordering processes for kitchen supplies, alcohol beverages, and restaurant needs.
- Maintains required records including ordering history, income/expenses, and personnel records.
- Implement effective shift management practices to optimize staffing levels.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen and dining areas.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop menu offerings that align with customer preferences and seasonal trends.
- Utilize POS systems to track sales, and analyze performance metrics.
- Prepares and serves food and beverages.
- Ensures the constant cleanliness of the dining area, bar, kitchen, and food storage and preparation areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proven experience in team management within the hospitality or food industry.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant management principles, including shift management and operational efficiency.
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff to enhance menu offerings and service delivery.
- Proficient in using POS systems for sales tracking and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on guest interaction.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough knowledge of safe food handling practices and Health Department regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of AVC laws and license requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of daily and monthly money management.
