Newport School District is seeking a dynamic and organized Afternoon Activities Coordinatorfor our K5 Summer Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, organizing, and leading engaging afternoon enrichment activities, in collaboration with the Summer Program Coordinator, that promote creativity, teamwork, and fun for students in grades K5.Responsibilities: Plan and implement daily enrichment activities (arts & crafts, games, STEM, outdoor play, etc.) appropriate for K5 studentsCollaborate with summer program staff to ensure smooth transitions from academic morning programming to afternoon activitiesSupervise students in various settings, ensuring safety and active participationManage activity supplies, setup, and cleanupSupport positive behavior and foster an inclusive, respectful environmentCommunicate effectively with staff, students, and families as neededMonitor student engagement and adapt activities as needed to meet student needs and interestsQualifications: Experience working with elementary-aged students in an educational or recreational settingStrong organizational, communication, and classroom management skillsCreativity and enthusiasm for planning developmentally appropriate activitiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamCurrent CPR/First Aid certification preferred
