Newport School District is seeking a dynamic and organized Afternoon Activities Coordinator for our K–5 Summer Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, organizing, and leading engaging afternoon enrichment activities, in collaboration with the Summer Program Coordinator, that promote creativity, teamwork, and fun for students in grades K–5.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement daily enrichment activities (arts & crafts, games, STEM, outdoor play, etc.) appropriate for K–5 students
Collaborate with summer program staff to ensure smooth transitions from academic morning programming to afternoon activities
Supervise students in various settings, ensuring safety and active participation
Manage activity supplies, setup, and cleanup
Support positive behavior and foster an inclusive, respectful environment
Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families as needed
Monitor student engagement and adapt activities as needed to meet student needs and interests
Qualifications:
Experience working with elementary-aged students in an educational or recreational setting
Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
Creativity and enthusiasm for planning developmentally appropriate activities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred
