JOB SUMMARY
The primary functions of the Field Services Technician based out of our TIGG division located at Oakdale, PA will be to execute carbon exchange activities, assist with equipment installations, assist with carbon loading at customer sites, conduct Site Acceptance Testing and provide technical support for operating systems. While at customer sites the Field Services Technician will be accountable for all Newterra related activities including safety, that occur on site ensuring that we achieve our corporate customer satisfaction goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ DAILY TASKS
Onsite activities include:
- Carbon Services Activities including preparing for and executing carbon exchange services
- Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Conduct Onsite Operator Training
- Technical support for operating systems and equipment
- Represent company on site during equipment installation and service
- Travel to site via vehicle or air flight, including driving company vehicle and towing required equipment
- Promote Newterra service for repeat site visits and routine maintenance
- Complete warehouse duties (i.e. inventory, assembly, shipping/receiving) as needed
Project Management:
- While at customer site act as site manager for project, accountable for all Newterra related activities.
- Ensure all schedules are met, set expectations early as schedule risks are identified.
- Issue commissioning report per the company defined process
Safety Management:
- Own safety management on behalf of the company while on project sites. Perform duties in a safe manner and promote safety to others in accordance with the company’s safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe workspace
- Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety to others in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures. This includes reporting all safety concerns, near-misses and incidents to their Manager.
Adhere to the company processes as detailed in Newterra’s Business Management System (BMS) and bring forward ideas for continuous improvement.
Responsible for completing all assigned training applicable to your position in the applicable timeframe.

QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma, technical trade certificate, electrician, millwright or equivalent experience
· Valid driver’s license in good standing
· Valid passport for travel if needed
· Licensed forklift driver
· Highly motivated self-starter with a result driven approach
· Experience working in a field environment
· Mechanical aptitude for handling piping, valves, pumps, etc.
· Demonstrated troubleshooting skills (electrical, mechanical, programing, process)
· Ability to travel 50% of the time
· Understanding of PLC programming and HMI logic (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, Schneider, Honeywell) an asset
· Water treatment process knowledge (Media, MBR, RO, UF, Chemical Systems, etc.) an asset
· Excellent communication skills, verbally and written (English and Spanish)
· Flexible, independent, accurate
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) an asset
