Title: Reading Early Intervention Teacher
School: Middle Gate
Starting Date: August 2025
Remuneration: See current teacher salary agreement and the Superintendent of Schools.
Responsibilities:
To perform those duties and responsibilities as described in the district’s Teacher Job Description, to
provide early intervention instruction and support to students through evidence-based reading
interventions. Monitor and record student progress, act as case partner in the MTSS process, motivate
readers and support building literacy initiatives. Regularly communicate with parents and teachers
regarding student progress.
Qualifications:
Connecticut Certification 102 required. Experience with Tier II & III services through the MTSS process.
Effective user of assessments, data, and goal setting to promote student growth. Strong background in
early elementary education, and deep understanding of the science of reading, structured literacy, and a
knowledge-based curriculum approach. Reflective learner who has high expectations for his/her
performance and that of students. Commitment to contributing to a community of learners. Ability to
work and actively involve parents in the educational process.
