POSITION: Childcare Provider for Newtown Early Learning Center (NELC)
10-month position, located in Reed Intermediate School
START DATE: Immediate
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday (approximately 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
SALARY RANGE: $17.00/hour
The NELC provides in-district daycare and preschool programs for the staff of the
Newtown Public Schools. Working under the direction of the program administrator and
site supervisor, the childcare provider will assist in the daycare room working with
children 8 weeks to 36 months old and/or the preschool program with children ages 3 to
5 years old.
QUALIFICATIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
High School Diploma or GED required
Prior experience a plus, but not required
Reliable with the ability to follow the 10-month teacher work calendar established
by the Board of Education each year
Strong work ethic
Friendly and positive personality
