Newtown Savings Bank is seeking a friendly, organized, team player to join our Loan Servicing Department as a Commercial Payoff & Review Specialist. This position is responsible for preforming the daily payoff process, reviewing loan maintenance reports, and reviewing new loans and modifications for all Commercial and Small Business mortgages and loans. Ensuring work is processed in accordance with department standards and meets regulatory requirements. Ensuring quality customer service to customers and bank staff. This is an onsite opportunity at our Corporate office in Newtown, CT. The role has a remote option of one day per week.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare Commercial and Small Business mortgage and loan payoff requests for both internal and external customers upon request. Complete payoff request sheet and generate payoff letter verifying escrows, prepayment penalties and fees are accurate according to the department’s procedures.
- Follow payoff procedure when funds are received which includes posting sheets, payoff file checklist, canceling Life of Loan Flood Certificates, filing and if applicable, processing refunds in an accurate/timely manner.
- Return paid Notes and/or original Titles to the customers. Ensure the Release of Mortgage is directed, either to the Town for recording, to the attorney or other recording service.
- Monitor, process and finalize customer incidents on the CRM system.
- Review associated maintenance of commercial quality control reports, such as new loan profiling, modifications, user file maintenance reports, ACH/AFT reports, Rate Changes and Credit Line Maintenance Reports.
- Prepare internal workout/modification worksheets as needed.
- Responsible for reviewing UCC-3, both electronically and paper process if necessary.
- Review all new commercial loan setups for FASB costs and fees for accuracy.
- Assist in preparing the Bank’s Policy Exception Quarterly Reporting for Management.
- Responsible for document filing/scanning and indexing commercial loan documents.
- Handle and resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Establish SMART goals and provide results/documentation to management quarterly.
- Ensure that customers receive exceptional service and positively promote the Bank and the Bank’s services.
- Participate in various civic and community functions to further enhance the image of the bank and to network for continuous new business opportunities.
- Assist the Residential Payoff & Review Specialist as volume demands.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma and 1-2 years of related experience is required
- Attention to detail and strong customer service skills
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word applications skills
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be well organized and dependable
