Nurse Epidemiologist – Full-Time - Days - Columbia
Join us in this essential role where you’ll assist in coordinating and implementing our Infection Prevention and Control Program. You’ll monitor cases of communicable diseases, healthcare-associated infections, and epidemiologically significant organisms. Your responsibilities will include collecting, analyzing, and reporting surveillance data while ensuring the program adheres to all applicable regulations.
In this position, you’ll investigate potential outbreaks, implementing prevention and control measures as needed. You'll also collaborate with a variety of departments, partnering closely with staff nurses, nursing leaders, and physicians to support infection prevention and control efforts. Regular evaluation of the program and active participation in performance improvement initiatives will also be key aspects of your role.

This is typically a Monday - Friday, 9AM-5PM position that requires flexibility in your schedule. This position will be located at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.
Preferred Criteria:
- Master's degree in nursing or related field. If master’s in nursing, BSN can be preferred.
- Certified by the Certification Board for Infection Control & Epidemiology
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in bedside nursing (Critical Care preferred)
- At least 2 years of acute care experience
- Experience in infection control
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Valid New York State RN license
- Ability to sit for certification examination after 2 years or less of employment
- 3-5 years of clinical experience
