Chief Nursing Informatics Officer
In this role, the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer works in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology (IT) to develop and execute enterprise-wide strategies that leverages innovative technology to advance the efficiency and accuracy of nursing practice and patient care and meets regulatory and professional practice standards. The Chief Nursing Informatics Officer provides oversight for a comprehensive nursing informatics program and advises Senior Nursing and IT Leadership on future trends and technologies to advance professional nursing practice at NewYork- Presbyterian.
Preferred Criteria
- Masters in Nursing or related field if already holds a BSN degree. Either bachelors or graduate degree must be in nursing.
- Doctorate in Nursing Practice or PHD
- American Nurses Credentialing Center approved national board certification
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT at a large health system with direct responsibility for coordinating implementing, designing, and maintenance of clinical information systems used to improve clinical operations and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in order to ensure effective integration of clinical systems with other institutional applications
Required Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Current NYS RN Licensure
- Minimum of 7 years of nursing informatics experience, program management and progressive leadership experience in nursing
- Leadership, communications and relationship management, professionalism, business knowledge and skills and knowledge of the healthcare environment
- Knowledge of current regulatory and professional nursing standards, including ANA Standards for Nursing Informatics Practice
- Computer skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Minimum of 3 years of continuous experience as a clinical user of clinical information systems
