CREDENTIALING ANALYST I
Under the direction of the Director and Credentialing Manager, responsible for the credentialing process, in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Responsible for requesting verification of previous employment for practitioners as well as responding to verification requests received at New York-
Presbyterian.
- Responds to verification requests sent to NYP from outside entities pertaining to dates of appointment,
- misconduct, malpractice and any other information required by State or Federal rules and regulations. Responses may require investigation into the files and various online databases as well as consultation with Legal
- Depart me nt.
- Assists in generating verification letters to be sent to outside institutions regarding individuals applying for hospital
- appointment at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Assists with processing hospital reappointments in a timely manner.
- Distributes Medical Staff appointment/reappointment documents to all clinical departments annually in accordance to an established schedule.
- Reviews all submitted credential documents to assure completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements and established procedures.
- Enters credentialing information into database a timely and accurate fashion.
- Assigns privileges electronically in accordance with submitted clinical delineation to allow electronic access by operational/clinical areas.
- Generates relevant database reports, including but not limited to, monthly report of appointments for the medical board.
- Drafts letters for practitioners requesting letters of good standing to be used for licensure other states and/or managed care plan enrollment.
- Works with clinical departments to assure follow-up on credentials where required.

Criteria
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One to two years relevant experience in an academic medical center
- Prior experience in credentialing
