SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking a Cost Estimator, who'll gather proposals (blueprints, specifications, and related documents), identify and analyze requirements (labor, material and time) to compute cost estimates. The estimator will have a good understanding of the scope of work through design and documentation. This individual will be responsible for drafting and finalizing Estimates, working cross functionally with engineering, construction, and business development. Estimates are to be used for Bid submission and Contract Budgets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Cost Estimator will:

  • Research a variety of documented data sources to produce efficient, traceable, verifiable and defendable cost estimates meeting Nexamp requirements
  • Understand full scope of the project through design document, prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a value for the work
  • Draw up cost comparisons with previous estimates
  • Create a list of project discrepancies and provide constructability review during estimation
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure quality of estimates, bids and develop change order pricing as necessary
  • Position is also responsible for process automation and optimization while supporting tactical deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player. Key qualifications as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent educational/certification background or experience
  • 1 years of experience in estimating, or equivalent/ Experience in estimating is a plus
  • 1 years of experience in construction field preferred
  • Analytical analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and seek consistent improvements
  • Understand relationships are key and have strong interpersonal skills
