Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for healthcare providers.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding services, procedures, and insurance.
- Manage medical records with accuracy, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Process patient information, including care plans and insurance details.
- Utilize 10 key typing skills for data entry tasks effectively.
- Communicate using dental terminology when necessary for dental-related appointments.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while answering calls and directing them appropriately.
- Assist in office management tasks to ensure a well-functioning environment.
- Support billing processes, including familiarity with Medicare and ICD-9 coding.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical records management and office procedures is essential.
- Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to assist a diverse patient population.
- Knowledge of dental receptionist duties is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this position.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining professionalism at all times.
