KFDX in Wichita Falls, Texas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced News Anchor Professional to present our evening shows.
We are the #1 news station in the market, producing 34 hours of local news each week. Our anchors are leaders and are committed to serving the community through important local events and as moderators at debates, town halls, awards ceremonies, and parades.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Presenting news stories and other content for all platforms in a clear, engaging, and meaningful manner.
- Ensuring that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
- Writing and delivering news stories in a concise and clear format.
- Producing newscasts and communicating clear direction with team members.
- Assisting in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating news programming and other content.
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to ad lib when required.
- Minimum five years' experience in news reporting or anchoring, with superior on-air presence and excellent news judgment.
- Ability to identify developmental needs and coach or mentor others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and flexibility to work any shift.
