Next Chapter Living Center I & II are group homes for teen boys that are court ordered to be placed in Out-of- Home Care in the city of Milwaukee.
- Responsibilities:
Ensure that the residents chores are completed
- Review medical needs of residents; schedule appointments with medical providers
- Monitor food preparation, ensuring that meals are properly prepared
- Make a list of food and supplies as needed on regular basis
- Grocery shop as needed
- Monitor visitations
- Attend scheduled meetings
- Train and assure fire drills are run on each shift on a monthly basis and every six-months during sleeping hours
- Manage individual records and ensure that documentation by staff is correct and meets guidelines
- Answer telephone calls and take messages
- Perform duties as a lead Youth Specialist /Youth Specialist when needed
- Compile Reports
- Filing and Organizing of NCLC I & II files
- Monitoring program components
- Make copies as needed
- Ensure that resident's prescription are filled and refilled
- Implement and Maintain Procedures/Administrative Systems
- Attend internal and external meeting and/or training as required. Attends staff meeting and various other meeting if requested and take minutes
- Types and proofread correspondence, reports, memorandum, and other written material
- Distributes and files correspondence, memoranda, and other agency documents
- Performs agency's errands as needed
- Schedules various meetings, prepares meeting agendas, minutes and all other related items
- Transport residents as needed
- Administer medication and complete required documentation
- Provide academic assistance to resident as needed
- Assist group home manager in the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility
- Intervene in crisis, utilizing approved crisis intervention strategies
- Help with supervising staff
- Assist with On-Call as needed ( Including Phone Calls/Working Shifts/Arranging for Coverage)
- Pursue professional growth by making use of supervision and other professional development opportunities for the further enhancement of Next Chapter Living Center
Qualifications:- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a social work or home care setting- Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and regulations- Valid Driver's License- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve effectively- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical records systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,400.00 - $48,000.00 per year
