The mission of Next Generation Designs - IT Department, is to deliver exceptional technical support services to our local community and local businesses. NGD is a rapidly growing company and has an immediate need to onboard an experienced IT Support Specialist.
We are seeking an exceptional and creative IT Support Specialist located primarily in Smith Mountain Lake, Lynchburg, Roanoke area.
This person will also uphold the corporate IT Policy and facilitate the implementation of enterprise-wide projects such as standardization of asset management, systems profiling, client imaging and tracing, Helpdesk support system, and other creative endeavors.

Essential Functions
- Assess in-house and client IT infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure continual satisfaction of necessary demands
- Manage daily operations of the IT department, including but not limited to in-house networking, VOIP management, and general workstation maintenance.
- Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow, and improve customer satisfaction
- Coordinate the needs of remote employees, vendors, and contractors
- Protect customer data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage, and other necessary means
- Assist with installation of new hardware and software and training of employees on its use
- Assist walk-in customers with computer diagnostics, repair, and other IT-related and non-IT-Related requests, we are a small office and all work together.
- Offer suggestions for improvements and optimization of IT processes
Preferred Skills & Expertise
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, and other Windows-based software applications
- Experience with Networking, including firewalls, switches, and the related terminology
- Familiarity with VOIP and PBX-based phone systems a plus
- Familiarity with Linux and Virtualization technologies a plus
- Proven track record of maintaining IT structural integration
- Ability to establish priorities, organize multiple tasks, and complete them in a timely manner
- Ability to document IT-related procedures for in-house use as well as for client use
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or 2 years of experience in an IT ground-level role
- Industry certifications & memberships a plus
Requirements
- Valid U.S. Person status (citizenship or Green Card)
- Valid driver’s license ability to lift at least 50lbs
- Weekend on-call

Pay: $30,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
