As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting our chefs in delivering high-quality dishes to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as required.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and chef instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, including cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Support the kitchen team in preparing and plating dishes during service.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen manager.
- Assist with additional kitchen tasks as needed, including dishwashing and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role in a restaurant or hotel kitchen preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
