The Plant Manager is responsible for supervising and managing front-line employees on the factory floor, ensuring daily production targets are met efficiently, safely, and on time. The role involves maintaining plant operations, overseeing labor resources, ensuring product quality, and troubleshooting production issues. The Plant Manager will optimize production flow, evaluate capacity, manage resources, and handle maintenance plans and capital investment needs.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules are met while maintaining a safe, clean working environment.
- Ensure proper staffing levels, training, and performance; work with the Production Manager to address personnel issues related to attendance, productivity, and behavior.
- Monitor and adjust labor and resources to meet production targets, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in the process.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and company policies, and foster a safety-focused culture.
- Ensure quality standards are met, addressing production errors and implementing corrective actions.
- Quickly resolve issues that disrupt production, such as equipment malfunctions, staffing shortages, and safety concerns.
- Manage inventory of raw materials, tools, and supplies to avoid production delays.
- Maintain open communication with production staff and upper management, providing regular updates on production progress, employee performance, and challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing practices, training and developing production team members.
- Manage the maintenance team and preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or related field is a plus).
- 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
- Experience with lean manufacturing systems and concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with the stamina and strength to perform tasks safely and effectively.
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk across the plant, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a noisy, labor-intensive environment with exposure to various elements (heat, cold, chemicals, etc.).
Salary : $130 - $150
