Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. This role requires proficiency in triage, IV infusion, and administering injections, as well as experience with suturing and ventilating patients. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage incoming patients based on the severity of their conditions.
- Administer IV infusions and injections as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform suturing and assist with various emergency procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and provide necessary interventions to stabilize patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment options, discharge instructions, and family planning when applicable.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities within the teaching hospital environment.
Experience
- A valid Registered Nurse license is required.
- Previous experience in an emergency room or critical care setting.
- Familiarity with internal medicine practices is advantageous.
- Experience working in a teaching hospital is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential.
