What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler - HOU position at NEXT Oncology?
Position Description: The Medical Scheduler will schedule all routine and non-routine medical services with various local healthcare providers for an assigned patient population. In addition, the Medical Scheduler will perform a variety of receptionist, clerical, record keeping and miscellaneous duties in support and care of services provided in an outpatient or inpatient medical setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, Associate Degree and/or certificate program preferred
- Three years of medical clinic administrative or medical scheduling experience preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily confirmation of all on-site clinic and off-site appointments.
- Receive, screen and coordinate telephone calls from healthcare providers.
- Assist with maintaining and updating of all provider addresses and phone numbers
- Receive incoming correspondence and review/forward to appropriate staff.
- Perform a variety of administrative duties including but not limited to: answering phones; faxing and filing of confidential documents; and basic Internet and email utilization.
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Obtain patient information at the time of admission and assist in filling out forms, relevant documents and case histories
- Make and distribute daily schedules for doctors and staff
- Complete daily attendant logs for providers
- Maintain and update physician and patient data
- Manage the front desk operations
- Order supplies and maintain inventory

Supervision
The Medical Scheduler reports to the Director of Clinical Operations.
