Fiscal Specialist

Overview:

The Fiscal Specialist is responsible for managing the project budget, ensuring financial compliance with grant and FEMA requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is essential in tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports, and supporting fiscal accountability for the disaster response program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and monitor project expenditures, ensuring alignment with the approved budget and grant requirements.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation, including invoices, receipts, and reimbursement records, to support auditing and reporting processes.
  • Prepare financial reports, ensuring timely submission of budget updates, expenditure summaries, and grant compliance documentation.
  • Conduct financial audits and reviews to verify accuracy, accountability, and adherence to fiscal policies.
  • Ensure compliance with grant funding requirements, FEMA financial policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to provide financial guidance and ensure responsible budget management.
  • Assist in budget forecasting and planning, identifying potential financial risks and cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in grant management, financial reporting, and budget tracking.
  • Strong knowledge of financial compliance, particularly FEMA and grant-funded program requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, or other accounting systems).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate financial oversight.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to support fiscal operations across multiple counties.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
