Nextant is looking for a driven Technical Instructional Designer 2 to join our client team. The Technical Instructional Designer 2 will work with Curriculum Managers and other trainers to identify specific business needs and propose training solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assessing the needs of target audiences.
- Designing, developing, writing, and maintaining courseware with primary development in e-learning authoring tools to create interactive and engaging content, including videos, quizzes, simulations, 3-D models, microlearning, and more.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and external technical trainers to incorporate their expertise into various types of training.
- Researching technology-related information and maintaining awareness of external seminars, training, and literature on available programs.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of work-related experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and a Master's or other formal education in Instructional Design preferred.
- Experience in instructional design, including needs assessment, learner, context, and task analyses.
- Experience in developing learner-centered, performance-based learning programs for diverse audiences in different environments.
- Broad experience in developing and delivering e-learning programs.
- Extensive experience in technical communications (writing and editing).
- Experience working with clients, SMEs, and development team members to create learning programs that fit client needs.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Extensive experience with multimedia tools, including Articulate Storyline and Rise, Adobe Creative Suite, and Blender.
- Experience with AI platforms and 3D modeling is preferred.
- Knowledge or experience with major technologies such as networking, client-server applications, security, multimedia, etc.
- Strong communication skills, initiative, and independence in researching course needs of the target audience.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies preferred.

Pay Rate:
The annual salary range for this position is $93,000.00 - $102,000.00 in Washington State. Please note that the salary range is a general guideline. Nextant considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills, and other market and business considerations when extending an offer.
