Position Summary

Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, connected devices, and related technology in residential and commercial settings.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Electrical Service:

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical components on Highrise fan coil systems (Residential HVAC).
• Install and integrate new systems and/or system components i.e. electrical circuits, low voltage climate controls, electrical boards, actuators, motors, relays, etc.
• Install voltage conversion relays on fan coils, baseboard heating, and other line-voltage systems.

Installation:

• Coordinate with Nextech’s dispatch team for installation service logistics, scheduling, inventory management, etc.
• Utilize dispatch software to efficiently navigate daily activities and provide real-time communications and ETAs to customers, vendors, and administrators.
• Prep, diagnose, service, and install equipment following the provided installation work order.
• Record equipment deficiencies, serial numbers, and photo documentation of the services.

Programing & Integration:

• Connect devices and equipment to the corresponding network.
• Perform all necessary programming and integration per Nextech/manufacturer’s specifications.
• Test equipment to confirm product functionality and connectivity.

Demonstration & Work Order Submission:

• Demonstrate the basic product features and app control; advise customers of device tips, tricks, and best practices.
• Provide Nextech’s Welcome Kit to the customer.
• Obtain customer signature on completed Work Order.
• Submit completed Work Order and corresponding documentation via the dispatch software/app.

Professional Skills 

• Established professional experience with the installation, programming, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Identify maintenance risks on equipment; perform repairs promptly and efficiently if necessary.
• Practical electrical knowledge including, relays, light switches, conduit circuit extensions, breaker replacement, etc.
• Practical knowledge of Wi-Fi, mesh networks, radio wave protocols, and the ability to effectively install ‘smart’ thermostats, EV charging stations, and related connected devices.

Other Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid IL driver’s license, clean backgroundl, and driving record.
• Must be a US Citizen or have a permanent resident card.
• Adherence to Nextech's Code of Conduct regarding professional standards, communication, and grooming & appearance.
• Preferred Credentials such as Electrician Licence, HVAC Certification, Engineering or Technical Degrees, and other industry related endorsements are a plus.
