Position Overview
The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Wireline Outside Plant (OSP) Construction operations. This role involves scheduling construction crews, managing both buried fiber and aerial utilities, and serving as the primary liaison between the company, customers, and supervisors. The ideal candidate will have strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight & Scheduling: Plan and coordinate construction crew workloads, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Customer Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, attending scheduling meetings and addressing concerns to ensure smooth workflow and satisfaction.
- Revenue & Cost Management: Oversee change orders to ensure pre-approval, prevent overextension, and generate positive revenue margins.
- Technical Support & Compliance: Respond promptly to customer technical issues, adhere to contractual obligations, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate company databases, track key performance metrics, and provide job forecasting reports.
- Municipal Coordination & Permitting: Work with municipalities to obtain and execute necessary permits for construction projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with construction teams to align build schedules with customer priorities and resolve escalations or roadblocks.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure safe working conditions in adherence to OSHA regulations and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in wireline OSP construction.
- Proven experience in customer-facing project management roles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and Word.
- Advanced data analysis and manipulation skills.
- Ability to interpret construction prints/blueprints and site layouts.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with customers and teams.
- Experience with forecasting and managing workload distribution for construction crews.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Google Drive and Sheets.
- Familiarity with Quick Base.
- Direct experience in outside plant construction.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
