Hardware Engineer – Plano, Texas

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to support wireless equipment deployments and new technology trials. This role involves installation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of wireless network hardware and software. The engineer will also analyze and resolve network hardware and system issues in live networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the interface between customers and the R&D center for product design, implementation, and issue resolution.
• Oversee and participate in the installation of wireless communications equipment.
• Troubleshoot wireless network issues through systematic testing and debugging of hardware and software systems.
• Test and evaluate wireless network performance by monitoring and reporting key performance indicators.
• Develop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and provide training for field technicians.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: 10 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree or a related field experience.
• Wireless Communications: Strong understanding of 3G, 4G, and 5G cellular communications systems, including RAN and Core networks as well as user equipment (UE/CPE).
• RF Engineering: Basic knowledge of 3G/4G/5G radios, antennas, and RF systems.
• Experience with LAN, WAN, and wireless network deployment
• Servers, routers, hubs, switches
• Power systems (UPS, 24VDC & 48VDC power supplies, 3-Phase AC)
• HFC and fiber optic networks
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Hands-on experience with: basic electronic test tools (DVM, fiber test sets, RF power meters)
• Laboratory test equipment (Ethernet test sets, base station analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators)
• Diagnostic and standard hand tools
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with electronic equipment installation best practices and regulatory certifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Travel Requirement: Up to 20% travel may be required.
