NextGen EHR Implementation Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with providers and staff during the design, deployment, and implementation of business solutions; manages the solutions through deployment, training, and hand-off activities.
  • Trains medical providers and staff on EHR software; provides go-live and post-go-live support; manages change requests received from clients.
  • Responds to and documents customer information, product, and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development.
  • Responds to requests for assistance in specialty areas via all standard channels; provides in-depth troubleshooting, creates custom solutions, documents software defects, and provides instructions to clients.
  • Creates and maintains system-related documentation, such as business, system, and functional requirements, process flows, status reports, knowledge articles, and configuration worksheets.
  • Translates client's business requirements into application definitions, workflow processes, business processes, and solutions.
  • Resolves customer concerns raised during installation, implementation, operation, maintenance of product application or compatibility issues and/or concerns.
  • May assist with interfaces and ancillary software related to NextGen Healthcare technology.
  • May address significant escalations at the direction of a manager.
  • Performs other duties that support the overall objective of the position.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.

Experience Required:

  • 6 years of experience in a technical, customer-facing, troubleshooting, or software related business environment.
  • 3 years of experience with NextGen Healthcare's technology.
  • 3 years of experience providing one-on-one and group training in a healthcare environment.
  • 2 years of experience performing healthcare product implementation cycles.

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Level 1 NCE Certification -- must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver license throughout employment with NextGen Healthcare.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of: Customer and/or end-user support best practices; troubleshooting best practices; technical product related to a healthcare environment; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); methods and techniques in providing medical industry training; ambulatory healthcare settings
  • Skill in: Data analysis; computer skills; Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) laws and regulations; problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking; creating, preparing, and presenting information to a broad audience with varied levels of understanding; working as member of a team; communicating clearly, concisely, and effectively, both orally and in writing; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to: Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; maintain a professional demeanor in a variety of situations; work independently and as part of a team; plan, organize, prioritize, and balance multiple projects to meet schedules and timelines; demonstrate flexibility to accommodate customer expectations; conduct training classes for up to ten students; look beyond standard solutions; formulate sound decisions using available information; work in a fast-paced environment; travel up to 50% of work schedule.

Summary:

The Sr. Specialist II, Implementation position works with medical practice providers and staff to implement NextGen Healthcare's specialized healthcare technology product solutions. The Sr. Specialist II conducts an in-depth workflow analysis; plans and schedules the implementation of products and services; configures the software based on the practice needs and requirements; and completes trainings and support.
