Job Description : Tax Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing team in Northbrook, IL. This is a leadership role that requires a strong background in tax preparation, review, and compliance, as well as the ability to mentor and manage junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a CPA license, in-depth knowledge of tax laws, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Tax Preparation & Review : Prepare and review federal and multi-state tax returns for businesses, partnerships, individuals, trusts, and non-profits.
- Tax Planning : Develop and review annual tax provisions and planning calculations for estimates and extensions.
- Research & Compliance : Research complex tax matters, monitor legislative changes, and propose resolutions to tax-related challenges.
- Client Interaction : Build and sustain strong client relationships, respond to inquiries, and handle communications with tax authorities.
- Team Management : Supervise, mentor, and train interns, part-time staff, and junior associates.
- Additional Duties : Perform other accounting and tax-related responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Education : Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.Experience : Minimum 6 years of experience in public accounting, with a stable work history.Tax Expertise : Strong knowledge of tax laws, including recent updates and changes.Technical Skills :Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online).
Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Word.Familiarity with CCH ProSystem FX or Axcess Tax, and Caseware.Soft Skills :Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues with sound judgment.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.Experience working with mid-sized companies (LLC, S-Corp) and high-net-worth individuals / trusts.Why Join Us?
