Job Summary:
Performs weekly tasks to complete monthly and quarterly payroll. Assists Payroll and Benefits Manger and Human Resources with projects involving compliance research, audits, and collecting pending documentation/information from personnel or management.
Essential Functions:

- Responsible for the preparation and processing of weekly payroll for employees (hourly, non-exempt and exempt); review and ensure accuracy of approved time sheets.
- Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to company policy including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Compile payroll data such as Paid Time Off, insurance and deductions.
- Process garnishments, child support orders, tax levies.
- Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.
- Compile internal management reports from payroll system software.
- Audits time and attendance for integrity.
- Assist in department’s Year-end Processes (Employee Payroll Memos, Bonus, and W-2 distribution).
- Administers all employee benefit group plans including enrollments and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions. Serves as the COBRA Administrator for company.
- Resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company.
- Coordinates with insurance companies to resolve employee insurance issues.
- Assist in annual open enrollment period each year: materials from carriers, communicating charges to employees, answering questions. Process changes within deadlines.
- Serve as a contact in the benefit audit process.
- Administrator and coordinate annual 401k enrollment meetings
- Workers Compensation Documentation & Enrollment.
- May assist with creating or reviewing policies.
- May assist with leadership training as it relates to compliance.
- Provide monthly reporting to management.
- Approves, processes and may be witness to terminations and any other employee departure.
- Special projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of payroll and benefits compliance and laws
- Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet
- Ability to maintain strict and complete confidentiality
- Excellent attention to detail

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Human Resources degree preferred
- 3 years of previous payroll and benefits experience

Physical Demands:
- Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day

- Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
- To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. Daily movements include sitting, standing, operating computers and other office equipment and moving about the office. The employee must be able to communicate via email and verbally via telephone.
