Overview
NextStep is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Process Analyst for duty in a secure government environment at the Atlantic City, NJ airport. The qualified candidate will be instrumental in maintaining cost, scope, and schedule for projects that support the mission of the Department of Homeland Security. In this role, you will work with government managers to define the project controls, maintain accurate records, and track project progress against pre-defined metrics. Daily you will oversee and report on financial metrics, provide project oversight and interact with and communicate with government resources and managers. You will develop and maintain project schedules and ensure optimized resource allocation. You will regularly provide/deliver status reports comprised of financials, current and planning activities, schedule updates and report of completed milestones and deliverables.
Duties
- Daily client interface with all levels of government employees including administrative, technical and managerial
- Documentation and tracking of project requirements
- Interfacing with project team members for relevant project updates and communication of scope, cost, and/or schedule risks
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project schedules
- Control, track and report on project performance
- Prepare procurement packages for purchases, new contracts, and contact modifications
- Provide progress reports outlining tasks accomplished, progress to date, significant issues, and actual and projected financial performance
- Work closely with Technical Leads and provide with support for overseeing their projects
Skills
- Strong background in project management
- Excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills
- Familiar with all standard MS Office software systems including MS Project
- Ability to understand complex issues and facilitate resolution
- Familiar with government contracting and project management in government sector
- Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage client expectations and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical, oral and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to gain internal support and to operate independently without supervision
- Must have the ability to establish a solid working relationship with customers, technical staff, managers and peer.
Education
- Associates Degree is required, Bachelors Degree desired
- Three years of project management experience, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus
- Experience with supporting a Government Environment desired
- Ability to qualify for a Secret Clearance and DHS Suitability
