What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Structural Engineer position at NextWave Resources?
Senior Bridge Engineer to join our growing Transportation and Infrastructure Team. This candidate shall :
- P rovide subject matter technical support and leadership for multi-site / phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement, and / or construction of transportation infrastructure projects in the public and private sector.
- Perform research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of load-bearing structures or structural elements including bridges, roadways, and retaining walls.
- Provide situational guidance to junior engineers ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality.
- Assist in the management, growth, and development of the company’s bridge design and inspection team.
- Plan, organize and supervise engineering activities on bridge related projects.
- Represent projects and the firm at meetings and conferences.
- Make recommendations on project staffing.
- Assist with technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases, and presentations to client.
- Assure that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, budget control scheduling, cost engineering / control, quality control and project objectives.
- Provide innovative solutions related to the design of bridges, transit structures, and other significant structures required for state highways, county roads, and city streets.
- Solve project problems in a team environment, particularly where project issues and challenges are significantly affected by the proposed structural solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with owners, contractors, and sub-consultants.
- Maintain and continue to develop the firm's reputation for technical excellence in bridge engineering.
