Nexus-Onarga is hiring for a Part Time Food Service Assistant at our Cornerstone Cafe!
A member of the Nexus family treatment programs, Nexus-Onarga Family Healing is located approximately 90 miles south of Chicago and only a few miles off of I-57 on a historic site in Onarga, IL. Nexus Onarga provides boys ages 10 to 20 years old a structured, homelike environment where they can safely address their unhealthy sexual behaviors and their emotional and behavioral issues.

Schedule
Work Schedule & Salary:
- 20 hours per week
- Monday-Friday 6 am-10 am
Position Summary
Performs activities associated with the food service team within pre-established guidelines and requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform general food service tasks within pre-established standard operating procedures and adhere to all policies and procedures surrounding food handling, sanitation, health, and safety.
- Assist with the development of food and beverage plans for the residents and other Academy needs as assigned.
- Maintain accurate and timely records on meal counts, food usages, etc., as directed.
- Ensure confidentiality regarding resident’ issues, background and treatment; comply with Nexus policies involving privacy and confidentiality rules for residents and their families; maintain appropriate boundaries with residents.
- Remain current and adhere to all food service standard operating procedure, rules and instructions.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required by Nexus. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certificate in Food Handling
- Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
- 1 year of food service/custodial experience
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted and 50 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion tasks with hands and wrists.
- Must be able to bend, reach, twist and turn in a manner conducive to a large cafeteria/cooking environment
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
