Overview
We are seeking an experienced Subcontracts Lead to oversee the full lifecycle of subcontracts, from initial sourcing and strategy development to solicitation, negotiation, award, execution, and closeout. This role involves managing contracts across multiple sectors, including U.S. Federal Government, Commercial, International, and Defense. The ideal candidate will have expertise in subcontract management, cost and schedule oversight, risk management, and supplier performance monitoring
Duties
- Manage all aspects of subcontract execution, ensuring alignment with program cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
- Develop and execute acquisition strategies, solicitations, and source selection processes.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, schedules, and technical requirements with subcontractors.
- Oversee supplier cost and schedule performance while collaborating with engineering teams on technical execution.
- Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR regulations, ITAR, EAR, and other relevant trade compliance requirements.
- Handle change management, risk mitigation, customer/government property management, invoice processing, and payment approvals.
- Support business development efforts by negotiating Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements, and conducting due diligence on potential subcontractors.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 9 years of relevant experience OR Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of subcontract management experience.
- Strong knowledge of contract types (FFP, Cost Reimbursement, T&M, CPFF, CPIF, etc.) and government proposals.
- Experience in negotiation, risk management, and technical SOW development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- DoD Clearance (desired but not required).
- Experience as a Cost Account Manager for Subcontracts.
- Lean Six Sigma experience.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
