Job Duration : 2 Years

The candidate will work primarily in the Office of General Services Business Services Center Customer Support service line working at the BSC Call Center or in BSC Records. Duties typical of these positions include, but are not limited to :

  • Have a thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures that relate to various service lines within Finance and HR, with the ability to apply them.
  • Process service line specific transactions in accordance with standard work and the service line service level agreement.
  • ct as a BSC Call Center Representative answering approximately 50 calls per day. Utilize five or more state applications to verify customer information in relation to their questions. Have a working knowledge of the BSC ticketing system.
  • Conduct both written and telephone communications and prepare email correspondence to customers, vendors, program administrators and others regarding requesting information.
  • Resolve difficult processing errors, identify processing system user needs and other more complex transactions.
  • nalyze data and resolves complex auditing problems related to various NYS business practices, including various audit functions and related processes.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and participate in all continuous improvement activities.
  • Consistently provide quality customer service to all BSC customers.

Experience :

  • Either 1 : A high school diploma and three years of full-time experience processing business, finance or human resource transactions.
  • Or 2 : 60 semester credit hours of college-level study;
  • Or 3 : 30 semester credit hours of college-level study AND one year of the experience stated in qualification #1.
  • Preferred skills :

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Candidates should be organized, motivated, have the ability to work with others, flexibility, reliability
  • Microsoft Word & Excel. General computer proficiency and ability to learn new programs.
  • Misc. Information :

  • Monday to Friday; 9am - 5pm
  • Free parking is available onsite
  • Public Transportation : Close proximity to a bus line
  • Interviews conducted in person or online based on the availability.
  • Training : 1 week of classroom training and 2 weeks of sitting with experienced call representatives for initial training. More skills and training sessions will take place as representatives gain experience and familiarity with each type of call.
